Richie’s Hollywood Pitch
A documentary film featuring Academy Award Nominee, Eric Roberts, Sweetwater (2023) Babylon (2022), Eliza Roberts, Shondrella Avery, “Lafawnduh” Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Adam Rifkin, The Last Movie Star,(2017) and John Fiore, from The Sopranos. Follow Richard “Richie” Ravosa, an emerging Boston playwright on his journey to take his #metoo movement drama stage play, Mommy, Are We Poor? to the silver screen. Watch him as he knocks on doors, seeking advice from Hollywood directors and producers on that most elusive subject—how to get a movie made. Pulling out all the stops, he even ambushes actors in an effort to pitch his script. Armed with dogged determination and cockeyed optimism, this gregarious gadfly will stop at nothing to get his play about Chelsea, a young, widowed single mother of two, struggling to make ends meet, made into a feature film. Will he succeed and make his movie? Or will his dream die on the vine as he continues to pursue that persistent mirage, like countless before him have. The journey, is underway.
